Don’t Worry. Join Lady Renee Flowers of Transformation Community Church for this week’s Winning Women Wednesday, where she talks about “Not Worrying”. We hope you’ll be blessed by this timely and inspirational message. Many blessings!
One of the biggest enemies we will ever face will come in the form of worry and anxiety. And in life I’m sure we can all agree that there will be some things that are in our control that we’ll worry about there will be things that are out of our control that we’ll worry about. And while it’s so easy to fall into a state of worry.
Matthew 6:34 says “Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.”
Perhaps the Lord was telling us to be present in the moment, to be at peace today, to be joyful today. If we spend all our time and energy worrying, then we’ll always magnify the lack in our lives or the pain in our lives.
Worry is all to do with “if” … if I can’t pay this, if I don’t get treated, if they find something, but instead we should choose to adopt a new attitude. Where we don’t worry about tomorrow, but an attitude where we’re thanking the Lord for today.
We’re thanking God for his goodness even while we’re waiting on our miracle. We’re thanking God for what he has provided even though there are things that we may lack. When we do this then we magnify Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, instead of magnifying our problems.
Matthew 6: 25-27 “Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or what you will drink; or about your body what you will wear. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothes? Look at the birds of the air; they neither sow nor reap or store away in barns, and yet your Heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they? Can anyone of you by worrying add a single hour to your day? / Or to your life span?
I believe that the Lord wants us to stop worrying to stop pondering and wondering about what might happen tomorrow. Stop spending our time and effort and our energy thinking about what could happen tomorrow or even what should happen. We are blessed in this very moment on this day. Don’t worry about all the “what-ifs” that we could face someday…. what if there is a health crisis, what if there’s a financial setback or even some unimaginable type of problem.
How about we walk by faith and not by sight.
So, I encourage us today to stay and be in the present with the Lord. Stay present in our mind and in our soul. Do that by acknowledging Psalm 118:24 This is the day that the Lord has made let us rejoice and be glad in it.
