Even Now
John 11:17-23 (NKJV)
So when Jesus came, He found that he had already been in the tomb four days. 18 Now Bethany was near Jerusalem, about two miles away. 19 And many of the Jews had joined the women around Martha and Mary, to comfort them concerning their brother. 20 Then Martha, as soon as she heard that Jesus was coming, went and met Him, but Mary was sitting in the house. 21 Now Martha said to Jesus, “Lord, if You had been here, my brother would not have died. 22 But even now I know that whatever You ask of God, God will give You.” 23 Jesus said to her, “Your brother will rise again.”
I want to focus on two words in verse 22, where the bible says EVEN NOW
Even now. You see, Lazarus was dead and gone. He’d been in the tomb for four days, but Martha in verse 22 had the faith to say to Jesus, Even Now. I know that whatever you ask from God, God will give you. She knew that even though there was death around her, Jesus Christ brings resurrection, Even Now. This woman knew that even though her family was in mourning, her family was broken, she had the faith to say even now, God you can bring life. Even now when it looks to be over Lord, you can bring life. I admire this type of faith because it’s a faith that says, regardless of how bad it is, Jesus Christ can still work miracles even now. It’s a faith that says my family is broken, we’re arguing, fighting, full of bitterness, but even now Jesus you can walk in and bring healing, you can bring restoration into this household. This is the type of faith that says, Lord Jesus I’m unemployed, I’m in pain, I’ve been abandoned, but you can still work a miracle in my life even now. I want to encourage you for the next few moments. I want you to know that we have a god who shows his might when we think there is no more hope. We have a god who will begin to do his best work right at your breaking point. We have a god who will begin to make the impossible possible. Just when you think something will never happen, we have a god who will lift you up when you think you can’t even get up anymore. So here’s what I want you to believe. I want you to believe the word of God that says in…
Ephesians 3:20-21 (NKJV)
Now to Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us, 21 to Him be glory in the church by Christ Jesus to all generations, forever and ever. Amen.
I want you to believe that Jesus Christ can go above and beyond your expectations, even now regardless of your circumstances. I want you to believe that Jesus Christ can go beyond our greatest prayers, our greatest hopes or dreams, and he can work miracles. And so saints I’d like to say even now, God can bring healing into your life. Even now, the Lord can open new doors in your life. Even now, Jesus Christ can make you whole again, and restore joy and peace into your life.
I just need 10 people to believe that even now, it’s not too late for God to move and work wonders in our lives.
Someone listening right now is thinking that it is too late for things ever go in their favor… but it is never too late
Even now, Jesus can turn things around. His timing is perfect. He can operate without limits or restrictions. He can bring peace. Where there is worry, He can bring freedom. Where there is captivity, He can bring deliverance. Where there is oppression even now, even today, even in this present time, He can work miracles. Our God is a rebuilder, a restorer regardless of what our past and present circumstances look like
He can rebuild every broken home, can mend every broken heart. He can fix every broken relationship.
Psalm 30:10-12
Hear, O LORD, and have mercy on me; LORD, be my helper!” 11 You have turned for me my mourning into dancing; You have put off my sackcloth and clothed me with gladness, 12 To the end that my glory may sing praise to You and not be silent. O LORD my God, I will give thanks to You forever.
In our present circumstances, we may be in the middle of great difficulty, we may be under pressure and in distress but your word says in…
Matthew 11:28-30 (NKJV)
“Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. 29 Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. 30 For My yoke is easy and My burden is light.”
We can only find rest and restoration in Jesus. We can only find true peace, lasting peace in Jesus. So for all of the burdens that we carry, for all of the burdens that weigh us down right now, We must cast them to Jesus. We must acknowledge our weakness and bow down to your strength.
2 Corinthians 12:9-10 (NKJV)
And He said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for My strength is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore most gladly I will rather boast in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me. 10 Therefore I take pleasure in infirmities, in reproaches, in needs, in persecutions, in distresses, for Christ’s sake. For when I am weak, then I am strong.
Close (Prayer)
Lord, in my weakness I am strong because greater is He who is in me than he who is in the world. Thank you God for giving me sufficient grace. Give me a heart that does boast in my weaknesses so that I can have your power rest upon me, even now. Lord Jesus I ask for your hand to be shown in my life. I am content knowing that where I am limited you are limitless, where I struggle you prevail, where I fall short only you can make me overcome. Father I bless your precious name. In Jesus name we pray,
Amen.
