Guarding our Hearts
God loves a willing heart he loves a heart that is full of faith a heart that is committed and focused on seeking his kingdom first above all else
David is described as a man after God’s own heart
Psalm 119:10-11 I seek you with all my heart, do not let me stray from your commands, I have hidden your word in my heart that I might not sin against you
Psalm 19:14 Let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be acceptable in your sight O Lord my strength and my redeemer
Psalm 51:10 Create in me a clean heart O God and renew a right spirit within me
Our heart is an important area of our lives, because the heart conduit to all things: love, hate, bitterness, resentment, forgiveness, unforgiveness peace, joy, pain…etc., are all related to the heart, they’re all matters of the heart
The state of our hearts is important, and the bible tells we have to guard our hearts.
Proverbs 4:23 Above all else, guard your heart, for everything you do flows from it.
We must be diligent in guarding our heart. Being careful about what we give permission to enter our hearts.
When guarding our hearts we must ensure that the ground/soil of our hearts is fertile for God’s word to take root and grow and develop our faith so that sin has not room to grow.
Our hearts must be so full of God’s word that it chokes out any seed that is planted by the enemy.
So, I encourage us to let Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior reign as king in our hearts.
