Jehovah Tsuri ~ The Lord is My Rock

There are several instances in Scripture where the Lord is called our Rock.

Deut. 32:4 (Moses) He is the Rock, his works are perfect, his ways are just, he is faithful, he is upright and does no wrong. Jehovah Tsuri-The Lord is My Rock; what does that mean? Rock is a place of Stability-Strength-Safety

2 Samuel 22 and Psalm 62 reflects these 3 elements as it pertains to David’s relationship with God being his Rock. ~Rock of Stability: He changes NOT, the same yesterday-today-forever more.

2 Samuel 22: 37 You provide a broad path for my feet, so my ankles don’t give way.

Psalm 62:2 Truly he is my Rock and my Salvation, he is my fortress, I will never be shaken.

See, David knew it was the Lord who gave him the ability to stand firm in the face of adversity.

~Rock of Strength: 2 Samuel 22:33 It is God who arms me with strength and keep my way secure.

Psalm 62:11 One thing God has spoken, twice I have heard this, power belongs to you God.

Not only did God give David strength, but he also strengthened Paul in 2 Timothy 4 when everyone had deserted him. Paul said, “But the Lord stood at my side and gave me strength.”

So, listen as we go through trials with the Lord by our side, we are strengthened for the battles ahead.

~Rock of Safety: 2 Samuel 22:3 The Lord is my Rock, my Fortress, my Deliverer, my God is my Rock in whom I take refuge/find protection, my shield, the power that saves me, and my place of safety. He is my refuge, my savior, the one who saves me from violence.

Psalm 62:7 My victory and honor come from God alone. He is my refuge, a Rock where no enemy can reach me.

He is the Rock of Ages, amen! The Rock of my Salvation! David sings praises to the Lord as being his Rock of Stability-Strength-Safety in both adversity when his son Absolam rebelled against him and in times of victory when God delivered him from the hands of Saul and his enemies.

David’s perspective of Jehovah Tsuri remained the same in victory and trials. So, we too must share that same perspective and take a vow to praise and trust him no matter what our circumstances are. Whether happy or sad, through the good and the bad…amen!

We too have the same capacity to trust God and make him our ROCK!
