More Of Jesus

There are certain things that demand our attention. Have you noticed how when a baby enters a room, he or she draws on the affection of everyone around them? When a tornado strikes the ground, it leaves a trail of destruction and it demands your attention. Or perhaps there’s a huge sporting event like the Olympics or Super Bowl, there’s excitement in a city, there’s a buzz and even the local businesses will demand your attention. All of these things have a major, unmistakable impact on their surroundings. But if such things can captivate us, if such things can demand our attention, what happens when Jesus comes? What kind of an impact does Jesus Christ have when He comes into your heart? What kind of an impact does He have on the world around you when he comes into your life? If you study the bible, you will notice that there are blessings that flow when Jesus Christ is present.

You Ready… Let’s Go

First of all Jesus Christ brings salvation. He brings eternal life. Jesus Christ brings deliverance and freedom.

Salvation – the act of saving someone from sin or evil

Your spirit and soul will live forever in heaven

Deliverance and freedom from sin and temptation

Luke 4:17-19 (ESV) 17  And the scroll of the prophet Isaiah was given to him. He unrolled the scroll and found the place where it was written, 18  “The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he has anointed me to proclaim good news to the poor. He has sent me to proclaim liberty to the captives and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty those who are oppressed, 19  to proclaim the year of the Lords favor.”

Now I want you to notice what Jesus Christ brings. He brings good news (gospel) to the poor. This is what leads us to salvation. He comes to proclaim liberty to the captives. This is to pardon our sins and set us free from a guilty verdict. He also comes to set at liberty those who are oppressed. This is to give us true and lasting freedom from every unclean spirit. Furthermore, when Jesus Christ comes into your life, he brings peace.

Colossians 3:15 (ESV) 15  And let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, to which indeed you were called in one body. And be thankful.

Now because of the heavy price that was paid on the cross, we don’t have to labor for our own salvation. We don’t have to earn it. We don’t have to save up for it. All we need to do is to receive Jesus Christ. Its to receive him in our hearts, then and only then can peace rule our minds.

Doesn’t matter how much money you have

Doesn’t matter how educated you are

Doesn’t matter how much you have sinned or what

Doesn’t matter what others have said about you

Doesn’t matter what you have said about yourself

Salvation is free and there is nothing you can do about it

But it all starts and end in your “heart”

What is in your heart will lead your mind, then your attitude, then your actions

Some of us need a heart transplant cause your heart is either corrupt, selfish, broken or discouraged

Jesus is your answer. Only Jesus saves. No one else or no place can save. Only Jesus can saves

“The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit.” The Good News: Though you may feel defeated, God is closer than you realize. He is always with you and can heal your heart. “But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.”

And finally I’d like to tell you that Jesus Christ brings love

1 John 4:16 (ESV) 16  So we have come to know and to believe the love that God has for us. God is love, and whoever abides in love abides in God, and God abides in him.

It was love that sent Jesus Christ to the cross. And its because of love that we have access to grace and mercy and eternal life through Jesus Christ. If you have a personal relationship with Jesus, you have access to all these things. You have access to peace beyond understanding. You’ve got access to freedom and liberty. When Jesus comes into your life, there is no more oppression. There is no more captivity. There is only salvation. There is life and there is freedom from sin.
