Taking every thought captive is not easy to do!  Join Lady Renee Flowers of Transformation Community Church for this week’s Winning Women Wednesday, where she talks about “Taking Every Thought Captive”. We hope you’ll be blessed by this timely and inspirational message. Many blessings!

Taking Our Thoughts Captive

2Corinthians 10:5 Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God and bringing unto captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ.

Taking our thought captive simply means gaining control over what we think about ourselves, others, and life.

We have the ability to exercise control over our thoughts. God warned Cain to focus his mind on the right things, but Cain chose to think about worst things…anger and jealousy which led to him kill his brother Abel.

We can with God’s help gain and or regain control of our thoughts. Not only does our behavior change, but our minds. Our minds must be renewed daily.

God calls us to change sinful behavior as it does not honor Him. We must work on disciplining our mind/thoughts. Our behavior stem from our thoughts, so we must allow God to transform us by the renewing of our minds.

Romans 12:2 Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind.

We must choose to focus our thoughts on the right things.

Philippians 4:8 Tells us we are to think on those things that are true, noble, right, pure, lovely and admirable-anything that’s excellent or praiseworthy. Those are things that will give us peace of mind.

The bible tells us God will keep us in perfect peace if we keep our minds stayed on Him.

I know it’s not always easy to “take charge of our thoughts”, it will take work and intentionality for us to take our thoughts captive, but know it is possible and we can live a life aware of our thoughts and take them captive! God gave us the Holy Spirit to empower us to gain power over our mind/thoughts.
