Well hello everyone. Welcome to Winning Women Wednesday with Lady Renee of Transformation Community Church. Thank you all so much for tuning in today, and I pray that all is well with each and every one of you. Well, today I just stop by to talk to us a little bit about “True rest.” Amen. Our passage of Scripture today is going to be a familiar passage. it’s going to be found in Matthew chapter 11:28 through 30. And it reads

“Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.”

Amen. Now let me ask you a question. Do you all ever feel completely worn out? I know that resonates with everyone. We all have been there before. Amen in that on a regular basis, right? And you may find some health experts that may give some advice as far as, you know, eating right and making sure that you exercise regularly and what make sure you get plenty of rest.

Amen. And so to Philly to feel truly rested. It may require 7 to 8 hours of sleep for some people, right. And some even more right. And so although this is good advice, but sleep isn’t the only risk that we need, right? That’s not the only rest that we need. Jesus offers us true rest. Amen. So he promised us a kind of spiritual rest.

It obviously is not recognized by the health experts, right? The physical health experts. So ask the creator of the world and of all humanity. Jesus knows us completely. Amen. As the Scripture says, he knows us very well. I mean, you know, we’re made in his image. Amen. The Bible says in Psalms 139 that he knitted us together, and before you know, he knew us before, he places in our mother’s womb, right?

So he knows our weaknesses. Amen. He knows our brokenness, right? He knows our struggles. He knows everything, every intricate detail about us. Right? He knows what weighs us down and what wearies our bodies and our souls. And he also knows exactly what kind of rest that we need. Right? So no healthy sleep routine or remedy will provide the spiritual rest that we need.

Only Jesus can do that. Only Jesus can provide the rest that reaches to our depths into our souls. Amen. Jesus invites us all who are exhausted. Amen. Who are weighed down, who are heavy laden, who are burdened. Amen. All of us who have cares of this world obligations. You know, we’re running the rat race, each and every day, Amen. And the stresses that we have, the problems that we have, the circumstances and all the things that we have that comes our way in life. Jesus, know all about it, right? And he invites us all to come to him. Amen. And rest a right. He says to come to him. He invites us to simply ground ourselves in him and to follow him each and every day. So though Jesus doesn’t promise an easy path, he never does that. He never did it. The word does not. Promises. there’s going to be easy. Amen. But he does assure us that he is gentle and humble in heart, right? And only in him. And through him will we find true rest. Amen. For our souls, for our weary souls. Amen.

So again, only Jesus can give us the spiritual rest that we need in him. Amen. So listen. Until next time, know that I love you, but God loves you so much more. So be intentional. Love on purpose and rest in the Lord. Amen. Blessings.
